Rei Lambert - Clinical Arts Therapist

Arts therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art-making in its many forms as a way to communicate inner messages. It is based on the belief that the process of engaging creatively in drama, dance/movement or art-making within a therapeutic relationship can help us to access our deeper unconscious thoughts and feelings and to express them non-verbally and symbolically in a form that makes them visible. The emphasis is on the process of creating and making meaning rather than on the end product, so participants do not need to have prior experience of art-making. In fact it’s easier if they don’t!

Rei has completed a three-year clinical masters degree program in arts therapy and supports the process of finding meaning in the creative expression/s whilst exploring ways to understand and integrate growth. She has experience working with:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Childhood trauma
  • Addictions
  • Physical disability
  • Life-limiting illness
  • Palliative care
